The 14 Days Uganda safari is an extraordinary two-week expedition taking you to Uganda’s most spectacular National Parks. This safari package offers unmatched wilderness experiences including game drives, launch/boat cruise, chimpanzee tracking, bird spotting, & gorilla trekking. Destinations to be explored during the 2-week expedition include Kibale National Park, Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, Murchison Falls National Park, Bwindi, Lake Bunyonyi, and Lake Mburo N/Park.
Pick up at Entebbe Airport (EBB) and transfer to the pre-booked hotel or guesthouse in Kampala. Check in at the hotel facility for a long evening chill, share stories about your trip and retire for the night afterwards.
Arise early and you will have breakfast then head off for Murchison Falls National Park in Northwestern Uganda. Before making it to the park, you will branch off to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to track rhinos. After, connect to the hotel in Masindi/nearby lodge at the sanctuary for lunch break.
After lunch break, proceed to the top of Murchison Falls to enjoy the most breathtaking views and taking photos. This will be followed by check in at the safari lodge for a leisurely dinner and overnight stay.
Enjoy the 2-3 hours’ game drive via the Northern game track and using a 4x4 tourist vehicle with an experienced guide, expect to see a variety of wildlife. Catch up with early risers in the savannas and expected animal sightings include cape buffaloes, elephants, warthogs, giraffes, lions, leopards, Uganda Kobs, oribis, Jackson’s hartebeest and bird species.
Following the morning game drive, lunch break at the lodge and after, leave the lodge for the 2:00 pm guided launch cruise to the base of Murchison Falls. The 2-3 hours of recreational boat trip lets you to view crocodiles, hippos, water birds (cormorants, kingfishers, bee-eaters and more).
Enjoy a delicious breakfast in the morning, and after you will leave Murchison Falls NP for Kibale. It will be a long day drive through Hoima to Fort Portal city-Kibale Forest, your primate tracking spot.
Have a hefty breakfast and after, get briefed about chimp trekking guidelines at Kanyanchu Tourism Center. Meet the park guide ready to begin your 2-4 hours’ trek through Kibale Forest to look out for chimpanzees. The trek allows you observe different behaviors, lifestyles, feeding habits of chimps and taking photos during the one hour of close encounter. After, trek back to the lodge for a relaxed lunch and in the afternoon, transfer to Bigodi wetland for a guided swamp walk.
Leave Kibale Forest NP in Kabarole for Queen Elizabeth N/P and you will be chilling at the lodge. Depending on the location of your lodge, you will be spotting some animals as they roam around.
A morning game drive starts at 6:00 pm with an experienced guide, and expect to take at least 2-3 hours in the savanna grassland. This will come with incredible views of elephants, leopards, lions, bush bucks, Uganda Kobs, buffaloes, and many birds.
After lunch, go enjoy a boat cruise along the Kazinga channel for 2-3 hours. The channel extends 40 km and connects Lake Edward & George. On a launch cruise trip, you will be spotting aquatic species such as hippos, crocodiles and water birds including African skimmers, yellow billed stork, shoebill storks, fish eagles and others.
Connect from Queen Elizabeth NP to Bwindi via Ishasha sector. At Ishasha, have great time viewing the tree climbing lions and other wildlife species, birds. This may come with a bush lunch break and you make it to the gorilla tour lodge in or around Bwindi.
The journey to enjoy up close and personal with a family of gorillas in Bwindi begins at 8:00 am after briefing at park offices. The gorilla families will be allocated to you by the park official and the park guide will accompany you through the 2-6 hours trek. The gorilla trekking experience includes observing the daily behaviors, feeding habits, playing, breastfeeding, and taking photos.
The Batwa community tour will be done late in the afternoon, interact with Batwa pygmies; get to know how they lived for thousands of years in the forest and this will be accompanied by cultural entertainment.
After breakfast, you will be accompanied by the park guide on a nature walk. A variety of animal species, especially primates; birds, butterflies and floral species will be spotted. After, get back to have lunch, and relaxation at the lodge.
Have a hefty breakfast and after, you drive to Lake Bunyonyi in Kabale. This lake is ranked Africa’s 2nd deepest and Uganda’s deepest lake, with 29 islands including the punishment island. It is a renowned home to little birds and most of them will be spotted during the canoe ride. After, get back for relaxation, dinner and a night stay at Birdnest @Bunyonyi Resort or Bunyonyi Safari Lodge.
After a delicious breakfast, you will leave Lake Bunyonyi in Kabale for Lake Mburo National Park in Kiruhura District. At Lake Mburo NP, you will have lunch and a long day relaxing at the lodge (Lake Mburo Safari Lodge/Kigambira Safari Lodge/Rwakobo Rock or Leopard Camp)
Have breakfast and after, set out for guided game drive through the savanna plains of Lake Mburo N/P. The park’s animals to be spotted include giraffes, warthogs, zebras, impalas, waterbucks, leopards, buffaloes, elands, topis and more. Drive back to have lunch in the safari lodge, and then proceed to Lake Mburo for a boat cruise. The boat cruise takes 2-3 hours inclusive of sighting hippos, crocodiles and birds. The evening relaxation and overnight stay will be at Lake Mburo Safari Lodge/Kigambira Safari Lodge/Rwakobo Rock or Leopard Camp.
A leisurely cup of tea or coffee and after, you will depart Lake Mburo N/P to Kampala or Entebbe. Today’s road trip allows you to make a stopover at the Equator crossing to take photos.
