4 days Rwanda gorilla safari is a remarkable mountain gorilla trekking tour introducing you to the biodiverse Volcanoes National Park, home to about 30% of the 1063 mountain gorillas that are left on earth today. It is a one-of-the-kind safari offering you a lifetime opportunity to see mountain gorillas in the wild. It also incorporates golden monkey tracking where you will enjoy the sight of endemic golden monkeys, learn about their behaviours and take pictures.
Volcanoes National Park is a
Rwanda safari park found in the Ruhengeri region, the North-western side of the country. 12 gorilla groups have been fully habituated and they are ready for gorilla trekking in this park alone. The park was created in 1925 and it sits on a compact land area of 160km².

A warm welcome into the Land of a Thousand Hills -Rwanda by your driver guide. Get briefed on what your 4 days Rwanda gorilla safari is all about and what you should expect. Start your journey 2-3 hours to Ruhengeri to check in at the gorilla safari in Volcanoes National Park for relaxation, dining and overnight stay.
Accommodation
After breakfast, leave your lodge and report to Kinigi (head offices of Volcanoes NP) for a briefing about gorilla tracking rules. Allocation of park guides, gorilla families etc will be done at Kinigi and the actual search for gorillas begins at 8:00 am, lasting for about 2-6 hours.
Once mountain gorillas have been located, you have only 1 hour to enjoy a close encounter. Take pictures as much as you can and return for lunch, relaxing the rest of the evening.
Accommodation
Enjoy an early breakfast, after assembling at Kinigi to meet the park official but today, you get briefed about rules on golden monkey tracking. At 8:00 am, begin a 2-4 hours trek to see golden monkeys. These are shy creatures but interesting to catch a glimpse and during photo taking, you have to be keen enough because they are playful, they keep jumping from one tree to another.
Return after one hour of a close encounter. Spend some time at the lodge relaxing and, in the evening, have a short walk into Iby’Iwacu village/community for a cultural visit, learning more about Rwandese cultures, traditions, and norms, enjoy great entertainment and more.
Accommodation
Enjoy a hefty breakfast, after checking out of the gorilla safari lodge in Musanze Volcanoes National Park. Drive back 2-3 hours to Kigali, enjoy a short Kigali city tour -visit the Kigali genocide site, craft shops, etc. Enjoy packed lunch or settle at the hotel and later, transfer to Kigali International Airport for departure.
