3 DAYS MURCHISON FALLS SELF-DRIVE TOUR

Get up early and enjoy a delicious breakfast at leisure. After breakfast, meet our company representative who will take you through a short briefing about your trip and also hand over the car keys for you. Begin your journey from Entebbe or Kampala city to Murchison Falls National Park which is found in the Northwestern part of Uganda. Your self-drive road trip will take between 6 and 7 hours inclusive of the en route rhino trekking experience at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. 

The rhino trek at Ziwa allows you to have a complete immersion into the wild for you to search for rhinos and learn more about their unique behaviors. During the rhino trek, you will be accompanied by an experienced guide from Ziwa. The guided rhino trek also allows you to encounter other wildlife and also birds. 

After the Ziwa rhino trekking session, proceed to Masindi where you may settle for lunch in one of the best restaurants/hotels. Continue with your self-drive road trip from Masindi to Kichumbanyobo gate where you will get cleared to have access to Murchison Falls National Park. Head to your pre-booked accommodation and drive within the park's stipulated driving speed limit. 

As you head towards the Northern end of the Murchison Falls National Park, expect to come across multiple species including olive baboons, elephants, birds, and more. You will have a visit to the top of the falls for photography and then continue to your accommodation.

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast and after, you will set off from the lodge/camp for a memorable self-drive game viewing tour. Using a 4x4 self-drive vehicle, expect to take about 2-3 hours on the Northern game tracks where you have a chance to enjoy great encounters of different wild animals. 

The Northern game tracks in Murchison are popular for wildlife encounters like buffaloes, bush elephants, Rothschild giraffes, lions, and hartebeest. You will also come across many Uganda Kobs, bushbucks, warthogs, oribis, leopards, and not to forget birds. Get back at a slow pace for you to keep eyes on more wildlife and birds. At the lodge, enjoy a leisurely lunch plus some drinks.

After you have had adequate relaxation, expect to depart for the afternoon boat cruise session on the Victoria Nile River. The Victoria Nile boat cruise in Murchison Falls National Park takes about 2-3 hours and you will get a chance to watch the Nile crocodiles, hippos, and water birds. 

At the base of the falls, have a moment to take pictures and you may continue with a hike to the top of Murchison waterfalls. Spend a great time observing how the Murchison Falls forcefully squeezes itself in a narrow rock of 7-8 meter gorge and later, falls 43 meters down then flows towards the Albert Nile. From the top of the falls, you will return to the lodge for relaxation, dinner, and overnight stay.

Have a leisurely breakfast at the lodge and after, check out. Ensure that all your luggage is packed in your 4WD self-drive vehicle and today, you will return to Kampala/Entebbe. En route, expect to have a stopover at Luweero for you to purchase some tasty fruits like pineapples.
