3 DAYS AKAGERA SELF-DRIVE TOUR

Have a hefty breakfast in your hotel in Kigali and after, expect to depart in the morning for Akagera National Park. Your road trip to Akagera from Kigali will take about 2.5 hours and you will be using a 4x4 self-drive vehicle. Since your road trip is expected to begin early morning from Kigali, you may consider engaging in a city tour for about 2 hours. 

The Kigali city tour will usher you to iconic historical and cultural sites like the Kigali genocide site, Kings Palace, and others. You will also pay a visit to the nearby local market, especially the Kimiroko plus some of the craft shops. 

After the memorable Kigali city tour, you will continue up to Akagera National Park. On arrival at Akagera National Park, you will check in your respective lodges to relax, dine, and retire for the night.

At leisure, enjoy a delicious breakfast, and after, expect to start your morning game drive via the enriching game tracks in Akagera National Park. During the game drive, you will keep eyes on the diversity of wildlife such as giraffes, elephants, lions, buffaloes, leopards, zebras, hyenas, and many antelopes including the elands, waterbucks, bushbucks, oribis, topis, duikers, impalas, duikers, and roan antelopes. 

Return from the exciting game drive in the morning, and settle for lunch and relaxation. Depart from the lodge once again and today’s afternoon includes a boat cruise experience. A boat cruise experience will be enjoyed on the scenic Lake Ihema and expect to spend about 2-3 hours. 

The memorable Lake Ihema boat cruise excursion will get you exposed to diverse aquatic wildlife like hippos, crocodiles, and aquatic birds. Return from the boat cruise and have the entire evening in your lodge/camp, enjoy your dinner, and then have a night stay.

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast and after, check out from your camp/lodge. Today, you will be exiting Akagera National Park.
